Career highlight: Silver medalist – Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010.
Benson Njangiru already knows the level of determination, hunger and skill required to gain qualification for the Olympic Games, having represented his country at London 2012.
The Kenyan likes to apply episodes of controlled pressure together with efficient and organized punch combinations. His career peak came at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, where he won the silver medal in the flyweight division.
He has a tight defense that incorporates unorthodox blocks and movements of the body to avoid being hurt in the ring. Njangiru is also capable of putting together flowing punch combinations, boxing either at close quarters on the inside or at long range from the outside.
Physically well-conditioned and a crisp and aggressive puncher, he can count excellent coordination as one of his best attributes together with lightning reactions and blurring hand speed. He will be looking to use all of these strengths to his advantage in the APB’s 56kg division where he will undoubtedly be a tough contender.
