Career highlight: South American Games – silver medal
The Ecuadorian Light Flyweight Carlos Quipo has joined APB to prove to the boxing world that he is one of the best boxers in South America and beyond.
At 24 he is in top shape after winning the gold medal in the prestigious Cordoba Cardin and Roberto Balado Cup. Along the way he defeated WSB Cuban debutant Santiago Amador in Havana.
Quipo isn’t a rookie, though; he has three gold medals in the Pacific Cup, a silver medal in the South American Games and he can boast of being Continental Champion too.
He is a strong and fast boxer who prefers to take control of his fights, putting pressure on his opponent with powerful punches. “I’m very happy and motivated to be taking part in APB. I want to show everybody my quality. I’m training hard and I’m ready for this. I will win for my family,” Quipo says.
Quipo made the Ecuador London 2012 Olympic Games team and he has been working on his training with complete focus in order to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. APB is the perfect place to show his boxing qualities.
