Being a fighter of typically Mexican makeup, Elias Emigdio already has many of the essentials needed to succeed in the APB: a professional fighting style, the heart of a lion, hurtful punching power, an iron chin and a warrior mentality. This, when fused with his mature boxing style, accentuates his potency in the ring.
Already a veteran of 20 fights in his four seasons in the World Series of Boxing competing for the Mexico Guerreros, Emigdio has won an impressive 17 of these fights whilst registering three stoppage victories placing him at number three in the overall individual rankings.
“I will always want to fight the best fighters in the world,” says Emigdio, who cites fulfilling his dream of competing in the Olympic Games as the main motivation to succeed in the competition.
“Had I turned pro before, I would not be able to pursue my dream of winning an Olympic medal for my country anymore. While joining APB I can achieve both goals as I will turn pro whilst retaining my Olympic eligibility. Moreover, this competition will bring me international exposure as I will fight other high quality boxers.” added the Mexican flyweight.
Emigdio is economical, hardly ever wasting a single punch and relies on his rhythmic footwork to avoid danger.
His style, power and experience should make him one of the most exciting boxers in the tournament.
