Career highlight: Bronze medallist – AIBA World Boxing Championships Baku 2011 and AIBA World Boxing Championships Astana 2013
“You should never give up” was the closing line in a recent interview when AIBA met with Erik Pfeifer to gain his thoughts on the upcoming AIBA Pro Boxing (APB) tournament.
The question was ‘what would be your advice to aspiring boxers’. Pfeifer didn’t need to answer the question, nor did he need to give advice, for those who watch the man himself fight cannot help but be inspired by the example set by the towering German in the ring.
A boxer who embodies the never-say-die attitude, Pfeifer has a wealth of experience in key competitions around Europe and on the world stage where he has carved out a reputation for being a classic boxer with typically ruthless efficiency.
Twice a bronze medallist in the last two AIBA World Championships at Baku and Almaty, the Mike Tyson fan has performed consistently at international level and possesses a malleable skill set that can be moulded into an effective style against opponents of all styles of combat.
Adept and technically sound, three-time German national champion Pfeifer will come to APB looking to work his magic as he sets out on a path that he hopes will lead to golden glory in Rio.
